ISAGENIX, SUPER SATURDAY

Are you interested in achieving the body and health you’ve always wanted? Spring and before the busy season is a great time to take action.

A year ago my Naturopath buddy Jennifer Jefferies phoned me. Fay you are working really long hours, you are stressed, I’m worried about you. I trust Jen, so I listened to her suggestion to look at the nutritional cleansing program she was working with. With a leap of faith I undertook the 30 day program. Within 10 days I had lost 7kg, had a whole heap more energy than in years, was sleeping like a log, and felt like a whole new me. A year later those kilos have stayed off, the energy levels are still way up there, and I just love those restorative sleeps.

Here is your opportunity to learn more about the products from Jennifer herself as well as the business opportunities from new IsaMillionaire Irene Miller – passionate and inspiring women.

German (Blue) Chamomile

Today a customer came in with the loveliest smile on her face to thank me for recommending a product to help her dry, cracked hands. They had troubled her for a long time. It was partly due to her arthritic condition but clearly not helped by not drinking enough water. Cracks on the hands and heels are a sure sign of dehydration. The improvement in just a few days amazed her. And now she is off to drink more water too!

An essential oil which caught the attention of the pharmacist in me years ago was German, sometimes known as Blue, Chamomile. Its anti-inflammatory properties show remarkable healing benefits on dry, red, flaky skin. In my opinion it's the hero ingredient in a great little product made right here in New Zealand. Rhino Repair Cream - how perfect is that name! I've recommended Rhino Repair many times, and always the feedback is positive - from a builder who works with concrete to another with eczema on the ears. Well done Steph of Oasis Beauty NZ for creating this gem.

From Pharmacy to Aromatherapy

Why did I choose to change a successful career as a retail pharmacist to embrace the world of aromatherapy?  For me it didn’t seem a drastic diversion, but rather taking a parallel course.  A path I instinctively had to follow.

Back in the days when aromatherapy essential oils began to appear in pharmacies, a company representative showed me her bag full of little bottles.  I had no idea what they were about, but was totally drawn to them.  I just knew they had to go on my shelves.  Over the next year or two I attended courses, learnt more, and became fascinated with results these potent little oils could achieve without the side effects of some orthodox medicine.  It was time to delve further.  Aromatherapy was so much more than just a pretty smell.

In 1995 I sold my pharmacy and went back to school to attain a Diploma in Aromatherapy.  Initially I had no clear idea of what I wanted to do with my qualification.  However, as the year progressed I was missing the buzz of a lifetime in retail.  Was there a gap in the market for a speciality store selling a choice of essential oil brands and aromatic plant based skin care products?  The logical choice was to open a retail store offering over the counter help similar to a pharmacist’s role and on the same professional level.  Extracts - The Aromatherapy Centre opened its doors in Downtown Auckland in 1997.  Sixteen years later this little haven is still there.  If you look carefully you can see the template of a pharmacy – Aromatherapy oils instead of medicinals, natural skincare, and gorgeous gifts, with an emphasis on Made in New Zealand.  And it smells good too! www.extracts.co.nz
